Many organisations and businesses experience reorganisation, mergers, redundancies and restructuring on a regular basis. The need to be flexible, coupled with the extra workload required to manage the transition period, can leave managers, employees and teams exhausted, demotivated and insecure.

The nature of the structure of work in the 21st century means that the phenomenon of change will continue to be an aspect of the nature of organisations/businesses. Employees need to be supported through these periods and trained/coached to manage transitions constructively.

Our consultants have substantial experience in helping managers to support their teams effectively through these periods by combining training in change management with individual and team coaching sessions. This approach assists with positive planning, goal setting and effective implementation of new policies, staffing teams and structures.

We have particular expertise in helping public sector bodies through mergers of departments, trusts and services. Recent clients include Children's Services, NHS Trusts and other departments within local authorities and the Third Sector.

Example

Two NHS Trusts were combining under a restructuring process. Managers were experiencing stress and increasing workloads as they managed the concerns of their staff alongside strategic reorganisation issues relating to mergers of departments. Training courses on change management were commissioned to support the transition period.

Following these courses, our consultants provided one to one coaching with the managers in order to encourage them to think more strategically about the process they were about to experience.

Result: the managers were able to reduce their own personal stress levels by thinking their needs through with the coach.  This allowed them to plan more effectively and communicate more clearly with their staff members in order to allow the moves and mergers to happen smoothly.
